Malakut in the Occident
Well, I finally made up my mind to launch Malakut in the English hemisphere of my globe! I guess it should be about two years that I have been writing my Farsi (Persian?) weblog. My Farsi weblog, Malakut, gradually developed into a virtual space to gather not only my daily notes but a wide range of other stuff as well.
It was about last year when my close friends joined 'The Realm of Malakut' and I set up a weblog for each of them. Perhaps the most outstanding characteristic of this forum was that it brouhgt together some of the most talented writers, novelists, intellectuals and translators who live mainly outside Iran. I assume that if I ever wished to point out one of the most brilliant achievements of my leisure activities in terms of writing a blog, I must say that the task of brining together of more than 20 active writers would be its major achievement.
In this first note, may be I have to write a lot about why I decided to throw myself into this arena and why I have always hesitated to appear in this scene like the few other Iranians who have their own English weblog.
To be quite honest with myself (!), I could hardly ever convince myself to devote my time to writing in English while writing in Farsi has always been a passion for me where I could allow the literary beauties of the Persian language to be manifested. Yet, I think another reaosn would be that the overwhelming influence of the classical Persian literature on my mind is such an all-encompassing one that it hardly permits the English language to show itself! It would sound more than anything else like an English translation of my mind rather than a pure and novel piece of English work.
Technically, this page still needs more work and I am terribly busy with all my work, essays and dissertation and practically leaves no time for me. Nonetheless, I have always managed to creep into this virtual spcae at least to find some relaxation from the hectic world of my daily work.
One of the ideas that I have in mind is that I may invite other members of the wider land of Malakut to participate in posting their ideas here. (I may withdraw this later, though!) But I have to think it over for quite a while. I have always been suspicious of my own English, let alone others' English. The paranoia of writing English in an erroneous manner is biting me already. However, I had to let go of this fear and write it in any manner I could. Let it exist now. I am not going to present an academic work here.
Well, I guess all this should be fine as a start. After all, I am not going to spend much time writing this 'Occidental Malakut'. I will be writing more later.

I still think that it is much better if you just use "Persian" instead of "Farsi".

Congradulation to Dariush for this new idea!I think it can be used as a good tool to spread the realm of Malakut all over the World, with the new readers. I wish to read your elaborated & more serious writngs here as well as your daily personal experiences. Be & remain yourself & write as you are, not like what the others want to be written & read!
I wish the blessed tree of MALAKUT, which is neither oriental nor occidental but human & of the earth grow, forify & go to 4th sky. Amin!

"I have always been suspicious of my own English, let alone others' English." this is very telling of your ill-grown self confidence, while you wanted it to serve as a modest confession. May God help you get rid of it one day.
